  • Sleeplessness

    Hey Homies,

I've become very sleepless as of late.  In recent history, I talked to someone until 5am in the morning.  That hasn't happened in a long time.  (That conversation was followed by one long ass day at work.)  There's a good feeling that comes with that; talking on the phone about nothing, but just loving the company.  It's one of those feelings that I really enjoyed when I was in a dating.  I remembered how good that was and how I want another taste of it.  I can't seem to sleep right away, tired as i am...

  • Aso Ng Mga Dukha Ng Milyonaryo

    Hey Homies,

Ok, based on the obscure title, you'd probably be guessing that I'm trying to say something in another language....

aso ng mga dukha = The Poor Dog

    milyonaryo = Millionaire.

So this is my poor attempt at saying Slumdog Millionaire in a Filipino way.

SPOILER ALERT!  I'M TALKING ABOUT THE SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE MOVIE!!!  I'm going to write about Slumdong Millionaire and how I connect to the movie.  Sorta like what I did with Better Luck Tomorrow.  Tune in next time for more interesting content.

I recently watch Slumdog Millionaire with Ide and Jeanne.  This has quickly become one of my favorite movies.  (Also, I knew the Final Millionaire question off the top of my head.  That was pretty cool.)  The story is a great underdog story.  I felt like I had a better appreciation for Indian People because their home country is poor.  (Mine is too.)  I think what really drove it into my soul was the love story aspect of it.  Here you have Jamil; a poor guy who is searching for his true love.  When he finally finds her, he just can't catch a break because the odds are stacked against him.  What makes Jamil endearing to me is that he is a good guy at heart.  Although he's lived a hard life, he holds onto a certain goodness.  I suppose this would be his love for Latika, his childhood sweetheart.  It could be that he wanted to live an honest life instead of gang banging life of crime.  Something about this guy says wholesome goodness.

One part of the movie really reached out to me.  Jamil finally finds Latika, but she's with an asshole gangster named Javed.  Javed abuses Latika, but he's got an boatload of money.  It's clear that Latika misses Jamil, but she isn't willing to leave behind her life for a guy who's only got true love to offer.  If this were some cheesy American romanic comedy, the movie would end here and Latika would have run off with Jamil.  Jamil pleads with Latika to run away with him, but she refuses.  As he's getting kicked out Jamil can think of only one reason for her to run away with him

    "I Love You"

    "So What"

This was a great scene, albeit an emotional stinger.  I connected to the scene. I lived this moment before.  Every break up sucks, but getting dismissed with a "So What" is pretty harsh.  It's like "I know you sincerely love me, but that's not good enough."   I don't want to digress too much here... but connecting to a movie makes it worth watching.

Anyway....  Check it out!  I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

  • I've Been Meaning To Update

    Hey Homies,

It's me.  I've been meaning to update.  It's for people who still tune into Xanga, like Maurice and Helen.

I'm really tired right now.  I haven't been getting much sleep.  Lately I've been averaging about 4-5 hours of sleep a day..  Also, I've been trying to get right for the summer by hitting up the gym.  It's also been good for my mood and keeping my bad back in good shape.  I gave up eating a traditional lunch. Instead, I eat a snack 30 min before my lunch break... then I go to the gym for a brief workout.  Afterwards I eat another snack when I get back to my desk.

I'm trying to push myself to get more sleep.  I think I am addicted to the internet.

Overall, I've been in a good mood.  I've got good friends.  My stress levels have dropped significantly since I've been working out.  No girlfriend = more money in my pocket to save.  It's whack seeing my bank account accumulate or my car balance go down faster.

Lately, I've been keeping my mind entertained by working on my Gundam Model kits.  Honestly, I am a big geek inside.  I love giant Japanese robots.  Gundam Model kits are the closest I'll ever get to piloting a Giant Robot..  I have been been doing alot of custom work on the model kit to make it more posable.  I'm also thinking up ideas for uprade parts...  I should have been an engineer.  Here is a preview picture of the model kit so far...

Gundam Sandrock is showing off a mounting point on his forearm for a shield or weapon.

New Joints in the Biceps and Quads give Gundam Sandrock greater flexibility in poses.  Notice that newly mounted shield on his arm?

Next, I'm redesigning the shoulders and neck.  Eventually, this gundam will be able to hit up a Yoga Class.

Enough Geek Stuff....  Now for the dog...

I took Punchy to the Strut Your Mutt dog festival in Bethesda.  I met up with Nini, her mutt, Luna and our other friend, Domingo.  Here are some pictures... Photo Credits go to Domingo.

Punchy with her Halti Collar on.  Punchy still retains the puppy-ish look, because she is only 10 months old.

Samoyeds that need you to adopt them.  They're awesome dogs.

    Training Demonstration.

Here we all are outside of Raku sushi in Bethesda.  Why is Nini's Luna more manly than my Punchy?  Aw well...

That's all for now.  Stay Cool

  • Organizing My Music

I have this obession with my music.  I have to have it organized just right.  I need to know the Artist and Title.  I prefer to have the album information too.  I hate it when my music is poorly labeled.  I hate it when people have the wrong artist labeled for their music.  I hate it when people use a lyric from a song and use that for the song title when it's not.  (To their credit, most songs have lyrics for titles, but not all)....  For example..

Ordinary People by John Legend.  <----Correct Title and Artist

    Is not the same as...

Take It Slow by Mario  <----- Incorrect title!  Incorrect Artist!

I've spent hours processing my music library to be organized.  This way I can find music properly.  When I want to find my music, I want it on the first search.

Here's a little gem that I found in my library.  It's by a band called "Make Your Momma Proud" or MYMP.  This song has been getting deep into me.  Music is goo for the soul.

    Enjoy.
